THE ISTANBUL TALKS SYMPOSIUM; is a meeting that is planned to take place in our district with the participation of experts in various fields from Turkey and from different geographies of the world with the aim of contributing towards the formation of a common mind at local level to discuss the common problems of the region and the globe within a scientific base for discussion and to overcome these problems through the sharing of knowledge and experiences. It is planned for common subjects concerning the future of societies such as politics (democracy, justice, human rights and freedoms, world peace, international order, local governments), security, economy (environment, energy, trade, agriculture) and media to be addressed in the symposium.

The symposium aims to present to both the internal and external public the process of dynamic change experienced by the region and the world in a correct way using effective communication tools and bring new ideas and solutions to decision makers by working for the formation of a common mind regarding outstanding issues besides discussing humanity’s common political, social, economic, scientific and cultural problems with experts from different geographies and cultural worlds, contributing to the rise of seminal insights for the future in overcoming these problems by sharing knowledge, opinion and experiences.

Local governments which are public institutions that have various responsibilities towards society, have to make decisions in line with the needs and expectations of society within the framework of this responsibility. Identifying the structure, basic needs and priorities of society and responding to these in the shortest time and desired level is the requirement of an effective management.

The symposium which aims to address a number of social problems at local level will contribute to our district being recognised in the national and international arena, will prepare grounds for many projects to be carried out in our district in the future and will open the door for permanent cooperation. Also high-level participation from all around the world will contribute to revive the economy by developing cultural tourism in our district. We also believe that addressing a number of problems at local community level with a democratic and participatory management approach will benefit the purpose.

The symposium will contribute to the promotion of our country and especially our district. Hope to meet soon, with regards.
